Check your starting point
You do not need to know every Tajweed term before beginning. You do need enough familiarity with Arabic script to work through basic reading exercises. If that foundation is not secure, begin there rather than rushing into advanced labels.
Use a repeatable lesson rhythm
For each lesson, read the explanation, identify the feature in a verified example, listen to an approved demonstration, and repeat a small amount while seeking feedback. Short, regular practice is easier to evaluate than an occasional long session.
- Learn one concept
- Listen for one target
- Practise a small set
- Review the next day
Use a teacher as a mirror
A teacher or qualified reciter can hear details that are difficult to self-diagnose. Bring specific questions rather than asking only whether a whole page was correct.
